The Game of Peace
The Cantonese word for "play," waan2 (玩), once echoed through Hong Kong playgrounds as children waged "Tin Ha Tai Ping" (天下太平)—a game titled "Universal Peace" played as a mock war. This irony exposes a cold truth: the structures of play and combat are identical, both fueled by the thrill of dominance and the rigidity of rules.
Nobody Here explores this uneasy parallel, asserting that existence is an absurd performance with no true victors. Life mirrors these war games; we charge toward hollow victories only to find the enemy is our own reflection. Invoking Laozi’s Daoist "Action through Inaction," the artist suggests we fight not to conquer, but to distract ourselves from the world’s indifference.
